TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR WEEKLY LESSONS AT
OSLO INTERNATIONAL PIANO STUDIO
Registration for new admissions happens during June/July every year. However, it is possible to register all year around as long as there are spots available. Registration will be valid and effective once the online registration form has been filled up and sent. The student will have a guaranteed spot for the entire academic year 2019/20.
Students registering in the middle of the month (after course 2019/20 has started) will only pay for the lessons they are offered that month (kr 369 per 30 min lesson, kr 676 per 60 min lesson). After the first month, they will pay their corresponding monthly fee.
A downloadable link to the studio calendar is always available on the website: oslointernationalpianostudio.com/calendar It shows the days when the studio operates and the days when it is closed due to Norwegian school holidays. There will be no lessons when the studio is closed. The number of lessons taken per academic year is based on the studio calendar and which day of the week the student wants to have the lesson.
3. PRICES AND PAYMENT
A link to the current prices is always available on the website:oslointernationalpianostudio.com/prices
The total amount of the course will be paid in 10 equal monthly installments from September to June. August has a lower fee. Holidays and bank holidays have been taken into account when calculating each monthly fee. Electronic invoices will be sent via email to the address provided during registration. The deadline for each payment is clearly stated on the invoice and it falls approximately on the first day of each month. Delayed payments will be sent to inkasso (debt collection agency), and students will lose their right to attend their lessons. There is a yearly enrolment fee of 390kr to cover for administrative costs that is paid at the moment of registration.
All bank transfers must include KID (client identification number stated in the invoice).
4. TRIAL LESSON
For new students, the first lesson is considered a trial lesson, which means that students can choose to cancel their registration after the trial lesson. This must be done sending an email within the next 5 days after the first lesson to firstname.lastname@example.org. A verbal message to the teacher will not be valid. If students cancel their registration, the difference between the enrolment fee and the cost of the trial lesson will be invoiced (0 kr per 30min trial // kr 286 per 60 min trial). Trial lessons are never free of charge.
5. BINDING AND CANCELLATION POLICY
At the moment of registration, the student commits to at least 3 months of piano lessons at OIPS. If a student interrupts the lessons before the binding period expires, he or she will still have to pay for the upcoming invoices until the 3 months binding period is over.
If a student wishes to cancel the contract any time after 3 months of lessons, he or she needs to notify it to email@example.com at least 28 days before the first day of the next month. There will be no refunds for pauses or sudden interruptions during the year.
Each student is expected to attend his or her weekly slot on time. If a student is delayed or cannot attend, he or she should call or send a text message to the teacher as soon as possible to let him or her know about it. Lessons cannot be extended if the student is delayed.
There will be no refunds if a student has to miss a lesson for whatever reason. The monthly tuition fee reserves an exclusive weekly time in the teacher’s schedule for that particular student. If a student knows that he/she will not be able to attend the lesson on a specific day, she/he can let the teacher know in advance (at least 7 days in advance) and the teacher will try to reschedule that lesson, if that is possible. If that is not possible for the teacher, the lesson can be taken for free on the next make up day, or “Joker Day”.
Students have a second opportunity to take their missed lessons: This service is called “Joker Day” and it is an exclusive service from OIPS. Twice per year (once per semester) our teachers will be available during some hours for free make up lessons at the studio. The Joker Day will be announced at least 15 days beforehand and the students will be able to book their slot online. Each student is allowed to take up to 2 missed lessons on each Joker Day.
If a teacher cannot attend a lesson due to illness, a concert or any other reason, the teacher and the student will try to reschedule that lesson or a substitute teacher will be provided. If none of these options were possible, the student will be refunded for the missed lesson.
7. MUSIC BOOKS AND OTHER TEACHING MATERIAL
The student is responsible for buying the books and other teaching material required by the teacher. All children must bring a blank notebook for the teacher to write down their assigned homework.
8. INJURIES / LOSS OF ASSETS
Oslo International Piano Studio is not responsible for any injury sustained on the premises or during the concerts/events, nor are we responsible for loss of assets. The parent/guardian assumes full responsibility for the well-being of the child and he/she is always welcome to watch the classes if he/she wishes to do so.
9. CODE OF CONDUCT

The direction of OIPS reserves the right to terminate this agreement for the following reasons:
- Repeated absence without valid reason or repeated absence without notification.
